I’m trying to configure a clustered lvm2 using cman and clvm, but clvm start up and lvm commands fail with this error:

# vgchange -a y data_vg

activation/monitoring=0 is incompatible with clustered Volume Group “data_vg":
Skipping.

if I use “–monitor y" then the command works as expected.

# vgchange -a y –monitor y data_vg

1 logical volume(s) in volume group “data_vg" now active

activation/monitoring is set to 1.

This bug was fixed in the package lvm2 – 2.02.66-4ubuntu7.2

stat does not display ext4 crtime

The field gets populated (see below) only coreutils stat does not display it. Apparently they’re waiting for the xstat() interface.

coreutils patches – aug. 2012 – TODO

stat(1) and ls(1) support for birth time. Dependent on xstat() being provided by the kernel

You can get the creation time through debugfs + stat:

Ubuntu 12.04 Dual-monitor 使用 Remmina 或 KRDC 遠端桌面連線工具 FullScreen 螢幕顯示的問題

我想目前Ubuntu上評價最高的遠端連線工具就屬「Remmina」、「KRDC」這兩個套件了。在還沒升級到12.04版之前，我一直都是用Remmina來作為我遠端連線的工具。加上我辦公室的螢幕小15吋，所以有兩個螢幕作為電腦輸出用。左邊通常都是Chrome方便查資料用的我會設定顯示在所有工作區中,而右邊我則是放了一個console(工作區１)及Remmina連線(工作區２)通常連線到我本機上的虛擬Windows作業系統進行Asp.net程式碼撰寫，或是連線同事的電腦幫忙解決電腦問題。


雖然 Ubuntu 12.04 上這兩個套件都很好用，但是用兩個螢幕作為輸出顯示時卻非常跛腳。

Remmina 在連線遠端電腦後的切換為全螢幕時(放置到右邊的螢幕上)，它馬上給你消失不見只剩下原先Remmina的管理視窗。但它並不是必關掉，只是消失。如果管理視窗和連線視窗是處於同一個工作區，先關掉管理介面再點擊啟動列Remmina圖示兩次，連線視窗就會出現。若是處於不同的工作區，則連點兩下啟動列圖示就會在右邊螢幕上出現連線視窗。另外當你全螢幕且顯示位置都調好時，切換工作區時連線視窗會隨機被丟到不同的工作區上而且顯示位置可能被換到左邊螢幕上。還有當你在全螢幕連線視窗上將焦點移出到左邊螢幕的應用程式上時，連線視窗常常又給我消失(又要連點啟動列圖示兩下才會出現)。

KRDC 沒有什麼不好的地方，只是它在全螢幕顯示僅能顯示在左邊的螢幕上。其它地方都還可以接受。

最後也就是剛剛才發現，其實可以安裝「Vinagre 遠端桌面檢視器」這個套件的評分只有三顆星。但是在雙螢幕的運動下卻是正常的。要左邊、右邊全螢幕顯示連線視窗都可以，初換工作區也沒有任何副作用，連線視窗焦點移出也不會消失不見。
